Does Omega 3 fatty acids cure depression?

Someone on YA said that Omega 3 fatty acids produces and increases serotonin in our brain and has other benefits that help us against depression and mood swings. They also said that many ppl have claimed to be totally healed from depression after using Omega 3 fatty acids.

Can anyone confirm this?

    I don't think so. If you have clinical depression, you need professional help. If it is mild depression anything can help, even placebo. It is not unusual to feel depressed at this time of year. Could you suffer from seasonal affective disorder? If you do get the SAD light and use it as directed.
