once its there, its there, you'll need surgery, angioplasty or stents to fix the already existing plaques. just eat healthy, exercise, take cholesterol meds, if your diabetic control your sugar, stop smoking or drinking. Go to the American Heart Association web site.

My husband had Chelation Thearpy after his heart attack and they seem to have helped..there are doctors that would argue this fact though. Try a web search and see what you can find out on it.

I'm not a doctor, don't play one on tv or any of the like, but I've been reading Dean Ornish lately. It is interesting and he does claim that his program does help to reverse some heart disease. How effective is it? I don't know…but it does sound good and I think it goes along quite well with all the American Heart Association guidelines.

This treatment is not natural but does avoid surgery:

I’m 40 and just had my third heart surgery totaling 5 stents. An asprin, 80mg of Lipitor and 1,000mg of Niaspan a day aren’t enough to keep my wayward liver in line.

I too have begun looking for an alternative.

I’m hoping this synthetic HDL has made some progress.
