Pomegranate juice is juice made from the pomegranate fruit. It is used in cooking both as a fresh juice and as a concentrated syrup, particularly in Persian cuisine.
Some benefits of Pomegranate juice are
- Fights Breast Cancer
Studies in Israel show that pomegranate juice destroys breast cancer cells while leaving healthy cells alone. It may also prevent breast cancer cells from forming.
- Lung Cancer Prevention
Studies in mice show that pomegranate juice may inhibit the development of lung cancer.
- Slows Prostate Cancer
It slowed the growth of prostate cancer in mice.
- Keeps PSA Levels Stable
In a study of 50 men who had undergone treatment for prostate cancer, 8 ounces of pomegranate juice per day kept PSA levels stable, reducing the need for further treatment such as chemotherapy or hormone therapy.
- Protects the Neonatal Brain
Studies show that maternal consumption of pomegranate juice may protect the neonatal brain from damage after injury.

The juice is very good, but only if it is 100% natural, no sugar (or sweetener!) added. Best choice is the fruit itself. Supposed to be high in anti-oxidants, vitamin C. You can take the skin and boil it in some water. Then take that tea whilst still warm and gargle for sore throat. Excellent before bed time. Don’t swallow, just gargle and spit it out. For the more adventurous types, take the entire fruit [seeds, white pulp, and skin] into pieces and put in a blender. Add water. Blend then put through a sieve. Drink the juice. There are claims that this juice can prevent cancer, heart attack, and stroke, lower blood pressure, and bad cholesterol.
